I’m not the best jig wizard. But I find a lot of satisfaction (usually after overthinking something,) realizing a stupidly simple way of doing something. Enter my body holding vise. Couple of bar clamps from Harbor Freight and some hold downs on my router table. Padded out some old shelves with soft carpet cuts and… 👍🏼 Works great.
I see a lot of folks make crazy complicated jigs and systems to accomplish things that could be done much easier. It’s cool. Some are fairly genius. But I got work to do man.
I spent plenty of time thinking about where and how to mount this. Had a couple of elaborate ideas. Then, this beautifully crude, simple and cheap solution. Voila!

I changed it up with the Tellurion headstocks. Stained black epoxy fill is the way to go, except some emblems will still be shell inlay.

It’s great to see a guitar we created being used on stage, and to hear/feel the magic coming from the speakers. Every guitar tells a story, but it takes someone special to make it sing.

Update:
The new Solstice shop is officially open for business. We’ve been taking appointments and seeing clients. The repair shop is rocking. The tool area is almost finished, along with the ducting for the dust collection system. Now I have one more bench to build on the other side of the CNC room. And maybe just a couple other things to do… 😂
The machine is working perfectly, and we’ve started production on two custom Tellurions. I’m planning to add 4-5 more to the schedule this year.

Before we ramp up production at the new shop, let’s take another look at one of the guitars we’ll be building. This is the new Tellurion model with the reimagined neck joint. When we first released pictures of our 3 bolt locking neck joint with increased stability, people went crazy. Now it’s available for you to order - link in bio to get on the build calendar🎸
