Schedule your appointment at my shop (Flagstaff, AZ) or with video chat. Appointments are 15-20 minutes and always FREE! We can discuss any repair or setup issues, browse our showroom, or start your custom build.
Availability is limited based on our current repair load. This helps us stay on schedule. I also limit repairs to ensure time for building operations.
Do you work on other instruments or amplifiers?
I only work on FRETTED STRING INSTRUMENTS... mandolins, banjos, basses, guitars, etc. I do not work on amps, violins, orchestral brass or woodwinds.
How long do repairs take?
Setups and easy jobs take 1-2 weeks. Structural repair work is usually 3-5 weeks. Restoration jobs can take a few months or longer. Visit the repair page for more info.
Do you offer rush jobs?
I do not offer rush jobs anymore. Occasionally it's possible with setup work, and we offer some same-days services on walk-in Wednesdays.
Can I schedule a virtual meeting?
Yes! I'm happy to do an initial assessment by video chat. I cannot make official quotes on screen, but it's a great way to get a rough estimate and start the conversation. I use Google Meet for these appointments. Select this option when scheduling.
Can I ship my guitar to you?
I occasionally accept instruments shipped for repairs, restorations, or modifications. The added cost of shipping both ways is about $180. We only recommend this for guitars and jobs worth the added expense.

Some before / after shots of something recent. We’ve seen a lot of these Martin DX models pop open. I’d say it’s a bad design, but that’s just my opinion. This one also had an impact crack. #guitarrepair #loothing #broken #fixit #luthier #flagstaff #solsticeguitars
I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. I wish I’d taken a good ‘before pic’ prior to the initial glue up. This was a pretty bad break with a few big chunks chipped out. A couple of glue ups were needed to get everything in order before finish touch ups, including sanding the back down and adding a mahogany backstrap to reinforce the break. • #loothing #arizonaguitar #arizonaluthier #luthier #guitar #guitarluthier #guitarrepair #guitarrestoration #acoustic #acousticguitar #restoration #guitars #custom #sound #customsound #fixit #whatsonyourbench #customshop #luthiersofinstagram #solsticeguitars #martinguitar #martinguitars
Thirsty frets means time for glue. We often find loose or “hollow” frets on guitars that come in for fret work and setup. Getting every fret solid and secure before leveling and filing is essential to achieve a perfect fret level. #guitarrepair #loothing #arizonaguitar #arizonaluthier #luthier #guitar #guitarluthier #guitarrepair #guitarrestoration #acoustic #acousticguitar #restoration #guitars #fixit #whatsonyourbench #customshop #vintageguitar #vintage

Hey @guitarspecialistinc , the guy with the glue cannon worked on this one too. He even managed to do some target practice with a bridge pin and blasted it to the tail block. Impressive skills.
I thought you’d be interested in seeing this guitar. I have a customer who keeps bringing me these things damnit! Lol.
But this is by far the nicest one I’ve seen from his collection… or really anywhere since this is only like the 5th harp guitar I’ve actually worked on.
Either way, this instrument was the real deal! Video coming in a reel form soon soon. •
