I have a high level of experience with structural repairs on guitars. Everything from basic bridge re-gluing to dovetail neck re-setting and other restoration jobs. This category includes  dry cracks and impact damage, broken or loose braces, finish repair, and head stock breaks. Structural repairs include setup work and detailing. 

Please schedule a FREE repair consultations first. These jobs are hard to estimate without a complete consultation and viewing of the guitar. We may ask for pictures to get a better assessment. Deposits are fully refundable prior to your approval after the consultation and inspection.

Structural Repair, Reconstruction & Restoration

Solstice Guitars was build around our world-class repair shop. We are experienced with intensive and complicated jobs, and we are known to take on projects that others cannot. Neck re-setting, major re-building, we've done it all. We can handle the most technical restoration projects and structural repair jobs.  This work always includes setup and action adjustments in addition to the repairs.

Objectives:

  • Structural Integrity: The goal with structural repair is always to re-establish the strength and longevity of the instrument. We treat each guitar individually, and our approach always involves in-depth analysis and understanding of your instrument's character, it's history, and it's future life in relation to the player's needs and expectations.
  • Correct Geometry: Proper alignment and geometry is crucial to achieving an instrument that plays properly and sounds it's best. When we repair structural issues, correcting the geometry and alignment of the guitar is always a prime consideration.
  • Aesthetic Restoration: We are eager to impress with a visual surprise when your instrument returns. We always consider the aesthetic result when approaching large repair jobs, and we'll consult with you about your expectations.

NOTE: This deposit will be applied to your final repair bill after materials and shipping are calculated. We require this deposit to send you our prepaid shipping label and start the process. Your final bill will show a flat rate $90 shipping charge, plus any other materials or parts.

Large repairs, restorations and reconstructions can take months to complete. Please be patient with these projects.

Shipping Policy:

We will send you a prepaid shipping label. Shipments are fully insured both ways if you follow our instructions. A flat rate $90 shipping charge will show on your final bill, along with any materials and/or parts.

FAQ's

What happens after I make the deposit?

We will contact you within ONE business day for a consultation and then provide you with an estimate for the services. If you approve we will then send you a prepaid shipping label with instructions. Otherwise we will refund your deposit. If you need a box be sure to add the shipping box and chose the right size.

What if I decide not to send my guitar? 

If you decline after the consultation and quote, we will happily refund your deposit.

What is included in the quote?

This deposit is for the labor portion of the service only. It does not include strings, parts, or the shipping charge. We add a flat $90 shipping fee to help cover the cost of sending the guitar both ways. Your initial deposit gets applied to the final bill.

How do I pack my guitar safely?

You must have a hard case. You will also need some packing material and packing tape. Follow our provided instructions. All shipments are fully insured.

How long does this process take?

We’ll contact you again as soon as we get your instrument. Setups are usually 3-4 weeks. Large repairs like re-fretting  generally take 4-6 weeks to complete. Restoration work can take up to 6 months.
