Tellurion Pondo Pine No. 1251

$3,400.00

The first in a series, this cut of Ponderosa is special.

Back in 1950, Leo Fender made his original Broadcaster® prototypes out of pine. This model was renamed the Telecaster® in 1951. The guitars I’m making today are crafted in reverence to my favorite guitar design of all time– this legacy is the foundation and story behind the Tellurion model. This guitar represents the inspiration and originality of the Tellurion model. Back in 2019 I was hiking in one of my favorite places just outside of Flagstaff when I found an old-growth ponderosa tree that had recent fallen. The forest service had been doing controlled burns in the area, and the roots had burned out under ground, destabilizing the tree. This was the reason it had come down. My friend and I camped out a few days later to cut and harvest this beautiful wood. This is the first guitar we've made from that tree. The solid cut of wood for this one is exquisite, showing the beautiful grain of the tree. The tone is a gritty twang. The pickups were also made in Flagstaff, by Space Llama.

Tell us about your playing style and we'll customize the setup to your preferences.
