Today is the longest day of the year, the start of a new season. This is an overdue hello, and preparation for what`s coming next.

Here’s a new bridge plate style I’ve been messing with. It’s cross grain top wood (in this case that’s sinker redwood) with a Port Orford cedar cap. This POC is almost as hard as maple. The final plate is about 120% the thickness of a typical maple plate, but about 85% the mass. I’m expecting a little added stability without sacrificing anything else. That’s the idea.
