Here’s some Madagascar rosewood with Adirondack spruce braces on the back of a custom #Ecliptic model I’m making for a client. I always use hot hide glue for all the bracing in my acoustics, along with the bridge joint. The top is getting done right now and I’ll show you the unique pattern I use for my tops again soon.

The most recent #Ecliptic model has found its new home. This beauty is active and balanced, with a punchy attack and a resonant bass response. The thing that struck me the most was the note bloom in the lower midrange. Rich and gorgeous.

Another Ecliptic ready to go🌞 I know these look similar in photos, but what makes them so special is how every build has its own unique features and feel.
If you’re in the market for a custom acoustic build like this one… I’m taking orders on my site! Link in bio for details.

Swipe to see the progress on one of my latest acoustic builds. This guitar is coming together nicely… stay tuned👀 #inprocess #ecliptic
📸 I remember how this piece of cedar smelled when I sanded the top plate. Warm and rich with a dark sweetness.
Do you prefer spruce or cedar soundboards? You`ll hear that cedar is best for fingerstyle players, but it really depends on how you build with it, the body shape, bracing, etc. Not to mention you, the player.
I love making guitars for specific players, tweaking the internal bracing and preparing the wood to get a certain result.

Happy summer solstice!🌞
Today is the longest day of the year, the start of a new season. This is an overdue hello, and preparation for what`s coming next.
(1) This weekend we`ll be launching the Love-It or Leave-It custom order program, a risk-free option if you`re curious about a custom build.
(2) We have a new version of the Transit model coming out in a few weeks. With this new version will also come a new name! The Tellurion.
(3) Lastly, I`ve begun a collaboration with Lindsey Guitar Works. We`ve started a special run of three Meridian models, all being made with Solstice specs & features. We`ll have more info & pre-orders available for you next month.

Nothing like the classic shine of nitrocellulose lacquer... the real stuff, no polyurethane here folks. 🙃 Here`s a look at the latest acoustic creation!
I`m accepting a limited number of orders for the remaining 2022 schedule.

Here’s a new bridge plate style I’ve been messing with. It’s cross grain top wood (in this case that’s sinker redwood) with a Port Orford cedar cap. This POC is almost as hard as maple. The final plate is about 120% the thickness of a typical maple plate, but about 85% the mass. I’m expecting a little added stability without sacrificing anything else. That’s the idea.
